💔Don't get too attached to this tape residue!💔Third year graduate fellow Joanna Hurd clears the adhesive left from aged pressure-sensitive tape on a suction platen by drawing solvents through the paper. The crusty orange residue is common, but the ease of clearing it is not!

First-year fellows are hard at work analyzing one of four projects for this year’s photo block: the Stephen Sprouse Archive from the Indianapolis Museum of Art! Included are 35mm color slides, Polaroids, and transparencies, which students will work to document and rehouse.📷

We hope you find some peace in this thread-by-thread tear mend, completed by second-year paintings fellow Isaac Messina on a landscape painting by Wilmington-DE-native Howard Pyle (ca.1900). While a few new threads are added as needed, this adds little to the painting overall.

🎨Throwing it back to just a couple of weeks ago when the first-year students were in the lab, in the midst of Inorganics Block! Using acrylic paint and medium, Rachel Bissonnette is inpainting a fill on a glazed earthenware plate.❤️
