When I say it's easier to understand assembly language than web "tech", I'm not kidding. Assembly is by its nature simple and limited. Standard web technologies are sprawling, ill-defined, and massively overcomplicated for what they do. If you can learn React, you can learn ASM.

Every man's worse nightmare came true for me today. For years I've accumulated all the cables I've ever had into a drawer-- you know the drawer. After years of collecting dust, I finally convinced myself I could throw away my VGA cables. A few months later, I need a VGA cable.

Across social media, we see most posts from people who are NOT busy coding all day. Which is why it's been so refreshing to talk with Michael Novati: who writes more code than most people you'll probably hear from - to this day. Read/listen here (cont'd):

its crazy how Slack has obliterated the corporate landscape by massively empowering the naturally socially anxious/autistic to be absolute demons in text channels and destroyed the average high EQ slow-typing product guy who just did not grow up fighting flame wars on Discord

If George Washington and Alexander Hamilton didn’t beg France for financial, military, and diplomatic aid during the American Revolution, this country would almost certainly not exist.

Alec Stapp Sam Enright It contains some timelessly good advice. Unfortunately, it contradicts this advice constantly in its code examples. Interspersed with the good advice is also bad advice. Sometimes it's just bad because it's outdated. Other times it's bad because it makes code terribly

My performance in lines of code per week is 100s (if not 1000s) times higher than an average Corporate Senior Software Engineer. My secret is being unemployed.

MAGA is making the claim that if you watch the entire 50 minute video, Zelensky is the antagonist. This isn't true. At all. I was with Zelensky before this meeting and it's important to know his mindset heading in. 1/ A short 🧵on how the entire ambush went down.

I’m tired of hearing the “AI is killing tech jobs” narrative. Here is data on “top” tech companies and startups hiring. The last 2 years (since GenAI went mainstream and AI coding tools evolved greatly) we’re seeing more hiring from them. Below the pandemic peak ofc

Ya sé que de esto no se va a hablar mucho porque la ciencia no suele ocupar titulares, pero no olvidemos que Montoro fue el responsable de una de las épocas más negras de la ciencia en España (y mira que ha habido). Entre sus "logros":

For a long time, I've thought that writing code was never the hardest part of software engineering. Code reviews, knowledge transfer through mentoring and pairing, testing, debugging, and the extra work that comes from having to coordinate and talk to people were, and still
