Earlier today, Guild leaders had a dialogue with the Vice Chancellor and his Cabinet about the preparedness of Uganda Christian University (Official) to observe Covid-19 SOPs while students are on campus, new startling fees structure and online learning. The resolutions shall be forwarded to Council

As Guild leaders, we met with Ministry of Education and Sports - Uganda minister and Ministry of Finance and vice chancellors of Uganda Christian University (Official) ,Barnabas Nawangwe of Muk in a meeting chaired by the speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga seeking for Government intervention in;

Provision of stimulus package to the institutions Suspension of taxes on Private institutions Reduction of tuition by institutions of higher learning. Ministry of Education and Sports - Uganda to provide laptops 💻 as opposed to radios and televisions to institutions of higher learning

As regards tuition, we resolved that the Vice Chancellors discuss with University Councils and report back in two weeks. Our petition intends to expedite the processes and see that we quickly help the students.

Kindly note that I have engaged the Vice Chancellor Uganda Christian University (Official) and we have agreed that the earlier communicated deadline (of 23rd) for tuition payment shall be reasonably adjusted.

Due to the profuse messages we have received from the students, yesterday the Uganda Christian University (Official) Student leaders held a meeting coming up with resolutions that call for the Uganda Christian University (Official) ‘s immediate response

In a closed meeting we held with the Vice Chancellor Uganda Christian University (Official) , we agreed to extend the voting to 25th November and give the University these two weeks to ably respond to the Student leaders’ resolutions. We hope for positive outcome in these two weeks.

As we get closer to the election date, I engaged the Uganda Christian University (Official) Guild Aspirants on how to win the elections, I urged them to work together even after the elections because they all bare brilliant ideas that seek to improve the students’ Welfare.
