‼️CONCESSION ALERT‼️ The no-strikes article in the tentative agreement means we could get fired for refusing to cross a picket line. This is NOT in the previous ASE contract. Vote NO on this awful TA to keep fighting for SOLIDARITY with our comrades in other unions.

Thank you Yiwen for sharing about the importance of FULL NRST remission!!💌 We need a contract that protects international workers and makes graduate school more accessible to international students by eliminating financial barriers😤❤️‍🔥‼️ alt text below :) #UCStrike #FairUCNow

@uaw2865 I know people at UC Santa Cruz and across UC who will now be forced to leave their PhDs because this contract is so insufficient. You all wanted to feel like you were "making history" more than you wanted to care about our most vulnerable rank and file.

This strike has made it abundantly clear that academia is truly just a site of exploitation and violence. Ive decided to leave my Theoretical Chem PhD program at UCB. In the spring I’ll have my masters, Id rather be back working 35 hrs as a barista than this shit. #UCFinalStrike

GSR voting turnout was more uniform than ASEs, with UCSF (primarily a research campus) showing the highest rates followed by UCB which, as the third largest graduate population, did a fantastic job with getting folks to vote for both contracts. 6/8

One of the craziest parts of the strike for me was this really cool action where we shut down a literal defense contractor drone conference at UCSD for like 3 hours and then UAW leadership came out of nowhere and was like: “I think we are being too aggressive…we need to leave”

in the state of california, employees have to consent to having their pay docked, so you should probably just not consent to having your pay docked.

Love how our executive board unilaterally decided to secretly, without any rank-and-file member present, bargain with UC over top-ups, dependent healthcare, MEFs, membership lists, appointment notifications, and percentages! Such democracy and membership participation!

Solidarity with Stanford graduate workers from UCSF GSRs. ✊ And thank goodness they didn’t unionize with UAW. Good luck y’all! Give ‘em hell. 🌈
