We may feel uncomfortable holding space for someone who is openly suffering or struggling, so we shut down, avoid, and close ourselves off. Or, often, we try to fix, to solve, or to be a hero. But...

It's a weird thing, but sometimes in these moments of struggle, the most powerful language is silence. Words are not always the most effective form of love. The most healing fix is touch. The most protective action is presence.

A reminder.⁠

You don’t have to be “fine”.⁠ You don’t have to put on a face.⁠ You don’t have to be strong.⁠ You don’t have to be who you think we want you to be.⁠

Life is not a static experience. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes it’s confusing. Sometimes it feels like it's never going to change.⁠ Keep going, keep going, keep going.
