Had a great catch up this afternoon with some of the Tudor House Weymouth Sunday team, complete with appropriate entertainment.

As necessary work prevented Tudor House Weymouth from opening this winter, I really can't wait for it to reopen for the summer season - in fact I'm hoping my Sunday team will get the go ahead to open a couple of weeks early...

Many people find it hard to imagine that Tudor House Weymouth was once on the edge of an inlet from the harbour, but this geological survey – showing the alluvium-filled area that is now Brewers Quay – shows just how large that inlet would once have been.

It's very nearly February, which means Tudor House Weymouth is about to awaken from its winter slumbers!

Along with other museums, Tudor House has taken the decision to postpone opening for the season. The health of our volunteers and visitors is paramount. Please keep an eye on our social media for more information and updates.

Our little museum welcomed 172 people yesterday, the busiest day since we re-opened! Admission is free (donations welcome) and we are open every Friday and Sunday until at least the end of September.

We will be open this Saturday, 28 January, from 1pm to 5pm to support our friends who are running a local history event in the church a few doors along from us. Entry is free (donations welcome). Please come along to the event and drop in to see us too.
