As necessary work prevented Tudor House Weymouth from opening this winter, I really can't wait for it to reopen for the summer season - in fact I'm hoping my Sunday team will get the go ahead to open a couple of weeks early...

Dan Snow If only! Working in retail, plus volunteering at Tudor House Weymouth, which reopens tomorrow means I only have a one day weekend until the end of the summer (at least travelling by bus gives me the chance to watch HistoryHit.TV on my phone) 😊

Many people find it hard to imagine that Tudor House Weymouth was once on the edge of an inlet from the harbour, but this geological survey – showing the alluvium-filled area that is now Brewers Quay – shows just how large that inlet would once have been.

Along with other museums, Tudor House has taken the decision to postpone opening for the season. The health of our volunteers and visitors is paramount. Please keep an eye on our social media for more information and updates.

Tudor House sadly has to remain closed, so why not visit our friends at Nothe Fort 🏛 for a fun-filled day out (you can stay dry today in the tunnels !🌧🌧) #weymouth #heritage #history

Would you like to dress up as a Tudor? Hear the tunes that people loved 400 years ago? Make Christmas decorations popular long before decorated trees and coloured lights filled our houses? Come along on Saturday 9 December and you can do all this (and more) - for free! From 10am.
