If we want students to be better learners, we need to teach them HOW they learn. I'm really excited to offer this course at The British International School in Hanoi - open to all teachers. Thanks Stephanie Miller for helping to organise! linkedin.com/events/connect…

Two tips for teaching exam classes: 1. TELL them about the most effective strategies to use when they sit down to revise alone. We use a 'revision map' for each subject 2. Then SHOW them: live model using 1st person what revision looks & sounds like. It's easier said than done.

It’s been around for a while now, but just a gentle reminder that Connect the Dots by Tricia Taylor is such a good book. It is an incredibly comprehensive guide to all things evidence-based education. Plus, it was beautifully presented and illustrated by oliver caviglioli @JohnCattEd

Excellent blog on oracy by Clare Sealy: "However, students also need to learn how to talk and how to listen. When explicit teaching about this is omitted, and children just left to get on with it, this is very likely to go wrong." primarytimery.com/2024/08/25/ora…

Want to stay motivated every single day? Borrow a strategy from Harvard. Then borrow another from stand-up comedy. Together, they’re a powerhouse for momentum, motivation, and mastery. Here’s how it works:
