What's a number bond for 42? Kids often say 40+2 first. Great, expanded form. What do they often say next? 21+21. Doubles. What do they say next? 15+27. What's that called? Crazy. Then what? 41+1. Lazy. What don't they say? 30+12, the key to regrouping. Their favorite? 42+0!

Schools/Districts: Trying to move learning through Tier 2 & 3 services is an overwhelming task. Kind of like this. Focus on Tier 1 instead, putting the life boat back in the ship where it belongs.

Do students need to take lots of tests to prepare for tests? No. Students need a deep understanding of the curriculum that they can transfer to any setting. Practicing "stress" will not make up for a lack of understanding.
