It's 121 years to the day since Welsh international goalkeeper Leigh Roose made his Everton debut at home to Sunderland, ironically another club he would go on to play for in his long career. Leigh was reported missing in action on the Western Front, France, in October 1916.

My little goalie met his hero today at Alder Hey. Jordan loved Oscar’s hoodie, he wants one for his son! Jordan gave Oscar loads of tips for being mentally strong & was just lovely. As where the rest of the players. Amazing day. You made my son’s year, so thank you Everton 💙

Proud as punch in his Everton Christmas Jumper 🎄 Christmas is such a difficult time of year. Like any child his age Brad absolutely adored all things Christmas. I can’t help wish we had naughty elves back then he would have been in his element with all their cheeky mischief ❤

A trip to London for the Toffees, tomorrow. Our first visit to Stamford Bridge was in October 1907, a 2-1 defeat to the Pensioners. Tom Booth, pictured, scored the Everton goal. It was on our third attempt that we achieved an away win thanks to a Jack Sharp strike.

Yesterday’s Athletic article, about whether Erling Haaland might overhaul Dixie Dean’s goalscoring record (we think not), also mentioned a sensational scorer for EFC & Rovers: Jack Southworth. Read about him, here: efcheritagesociety.com/maestro-the-ja…
