"Studies show that Ts spend 7 hours a week scouring the internet for materials. That’s basically a school day! When do they get to focus on pedagogy, and on individual students, & the cues from S work?" Read more from Jana Beth Francis: #CurriculumMatters curriculummatters.org/2018/12/19/im-…

There is a big difference between Evaluating Teachers and Developing Teachers. Teachers don't want to be watched. They want to Grow, Improve, and become Better!

DR. TOM LOUD (@loudlearning) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Teachers become nervous about being evaluated when they worry about what their principal is going to think about their lesson. When admins and teachers are a team and are continually working together for developmental purposes, nerves go away and GROWTH HAPPENS!

Whoever is doing the talking (and thinking) is usually who is doing the learning. Read this post to learn about ways you can limit teacher talk and have students take ownership for their own learning! bit.ly/2HlWXMb #studentvoice #engagechat #edchat

A grade is not feedback. Feedback happens when students have an intended goal & a success criteria to assess how their individual evidence of learning measures up. Then, the teacher provides tools or pathways to guide learners to reflect & revise. An 82% doesn't do any of that

For the first time ever, Tennessee scored above the national average on all 4th and 8th grade NAEP Assessments. One would expect the Governor to be out touting this accomplishment. Not happening because it doesn't support the voucher legislation. chalkbeat.org/tennessee/2025…
