We designed and engineered rollercoasters today. They needed to identify the approximate percentages of potential and kinetic energy. After building, they needed to transfer this knowledge to the real rollercoaster example. Here is one of the student projects! Toni Scott
Chemical energy from food is abstract so we made it more concrete! Studied the food web (CER) reviewing radiant energy and photosynthesis. We showed the eating process of mechanical/chemical (saliva/water and vinegar/stomach). Then role of intestines. Toni Scott
Keep working ! Addison Ojiaku
Had a great Title III night with Silver Track EB families at Lamar CISD’s Steenbergen MS! Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up and had a great time!
ZIPLINE Challenge with ping-ping ball. Students needed to design cart and determine the set-up of ZIPLINE. The cart has 4 seconds to get to the end without losing ball. Discussed gravitational kinetic energy, friction, and factors that determine speed. Toni Scott
Computer coding forces students to slow down and think incrementally. Teams had to answer the question and then code the robot. This could even be used for math, reading, or rainy day activities. Their next step will be to create and code robots.Toni Scott

I love that students have the opportunity to be engineers during advisory. They went from yolk all over the floor to no broken eggs. #STEMEducation #innovativelearning K_Marchena Dr. Roosevelt Nivens
I had the privilege presenting at our Lamar CISD LCISD Digital Learning Department Blended Learning Mini-conference! Student centered with high engagement, student discourse, and data-driven small group instruction! #educator #UrgencyofNow Wertheimer Middle School Toni Scott
So proud of our amazing Wertheimer Middle School presenting at the Lamar CISD Mathmagical Conference! Most importantly, we are deeply grateful for our Principal Toni Scott unwavering support, which empowers us to grow & shine! 💛
