At the UIL Theatrical Design Contest, LCHS Spirit of Lamar senior Marie Jolie Day, was selected as a state qualifier in marketing. The contest will be in May during the UIL State One Act Play Meet where students will create costume designs, apply makeup, and create a marketing plan.🎉

The 2024-25 Instructional Calendar was updated to reflect more planning time for teachers & separated into two calendars for students & staff.

As for school hours, our four-tier bus system remains the same & we have added our new campuses to the flyer.

In honor of #NationalVolunteerMonth , we’d like to highlight Ana Turcios, a parent volunteer since 2013. She helps identify multilingual students whose first language is not English and tap into linguistic accommodations. Ana has help numerous students succeed in the classroom!🍎

We celebrated students at the first-ever Parade of Champions and ring ceremony featuring our Grand Marshal and back-to-back state champs, the Foster Girls’ Water Polo team! The parade line up was full of student groups who qualified for state and national accolades.🎉

The GRHS Lariettes (Varsity) & Belles (JV) Dance Teams recently took the stage at the MA Dance National Competition at UT in Arlington & came back home with multiple wins. Both teams won National Grand Champion & Winner Circle Honors within their respective divisions.🎉

More than 100 community leaders, parents, and church partners attended the spring community meetings hosted by Superintendent Dr. Nivens. He gave updates about the hypergrowth within the District, new facilities, Innovative School Day, funding, and how we can work together.🍎

The Parade of Champions is on 4/13 at 10 AM. Join us as we’ll be honoring the Foster HS Girls’ Water Polo team for their back-to-back state championship & many student organizations within the District who have qualified for state and nationals.🎉

We’ve been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). Every day through the Performing & Visual Arts Department, more than 26,000 students are discovering the endless possibilities of music. 🎶

During the month of April, Lamar CISD recognizes #AutismAwarenessMonth as we strive to create an environment where students with autism are supported, championed, and celebrated. Together we will show every student how to dream big and #BelieveTheBest .🍎
