Every year when we do our repaving program we integrate bike and ped improvements into the contract. This past fall we added protected bike facilities to all schools, including a diverter on 47th and protected intersections on Adeline. We removed ~25 parking spaces for this one.

Great news from Mayor Eric Adams Eric Adams: "Our new rules will eliminate parking mandates for new housing across NYC and dramatically expand the options for adding more homes. If you want to build parking you still can. But we will not force people to build parking they do not want.”

Translation for normal people: in low supply housing markets, the lowest rent apartments jump the most in rent. In high construction housing markets, middle class apartments fall in rent the most, followed by the cheapest older apartments. Aka filtering.

Now it's 15 years! NYC is lucky to still have the likes of Sean Quinn and Josh Benson making its streets better. And each year its harder and harder to imagine the way it was before plazas!
