The Ruin’d Bruins opened their 2019-20 Rec hockey season by picking up a 6-4 victory over the Ice Wreckers in Carievale. This concludes a strong few days for Manitoba as both Pierson and Winnipeg Blue Bombers picked up decisive victories against our neighbouring province to the west.

After 5 years of futility the prestigious Mains Cup will finally make its way to the west side of the border as the pugilistic Gainsborough Wild Turkey’s won the 6th annual Rec Hockey Tournament. Thank you to all the teams who attended to help keep our small town rink alive!

The Ruin’d Bruins pressed late but couldn’t come up with the game winner as they skated to a 3-3 tie with the Dirty Dogs from Redvers who made their first appearance at the Edward in 7 years. Pierson struggled with holding a lead again by surrendering an early 3-0 lead.

Goal scorers for Pierson were K. Fletcher, Gav Smith, & F. Hammell. With those 3 leading the way offensively you know M. Tingey had his work cut out for him to be exceptional in net, kicking aside a whopping 44 saves which moves his season record to 5-4-1.

With the #Covid_19 limitations shutting down, autograph alley at home games, public appearance requests at the Co-op, and travel restrictions to Saskatchewan the Ruin’d Bruins have decided to suspend the rest of their season for the safety of their players, staff, & families.

The Edward Sports Centre hosted its first game in 21 months as the Ruin’d Bruins made their long awaited return in front of their fans hosting the Huskies from Oxbow. 65 minutes decided nothing as the teams skated away with a 4-4 tie. Pierson squandered a 3 goal lead in the game.

Nick Forsyth-Franklin along with his agent Neil Franklin and the Ruin’d Bruins were finally able to come to terms on a new contract ending his 4 year hiatus with the club. The signing has been met with much criticism from the fan base as season ticket sales plummeted from 3 to 1.
