The frustration with creating a sanctuary for wildlife - as at Broughton Sanctuary Broughton Hall Estate nr Skipton - is that you risk sucking in invasive non-native species from nearby estates. Pheasant numbers going through the roof now - not good news for their Lizards at least.
Alastair Driver Broughton Hall Estate You will likely find that the massive increase in Buzzard population will be taking care of the lizards - pheasants will clear a pen, just like chickens will, but once released tend to have a more varied diet.
Buzzards on the other hand will actively hunt them
