It’s #WorldMentalHealthDay. Let’s not forget that babies in the #first1001days have mental health too! Babies’ mental health needs are often misunderstood and ignored. Join us in ensuring babies' mental health is part of the #WMHD19 conversation.

This #WorldMentalHealthDay it’s important to remember that the foundations for lifelong mental health are laid in the #first1001days. Supporting babies’ mental health will benefit babies, communities, society and the economy for years to come! #WMHD19

Barlow talks about how ‘poverty is very important!’ There’s evidence of this from at least babies being two years old ⬇️. Barlow how Sir Michael Marmot has had a bit to say about this. #CPHVA19

Our new report on the state of health visiting is published today. It makes for very worrying reading ihv.org.uk/news-and-views… Too many children missing out on HV services, many health visitors juggling massive caseloads Reinvestment into PH urgent Matt Hancock iHV

Really important messages in #Marmot2020 about early years: Inequalities in early yrs drive inequalities in later outcomes. Adversity in early life leads to poverty, unemployment, homelessness, unhealthy behaviours & poor mental & physical health bit.ly/38RtOqX

We support NSPCC s call on Government to invest in delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. Modernising the HCP is great, but won't lead to a better service unless there are resources for delivery. NSPCC & おちんちんいっぱいボーイ research has shown that the HCP is not a reality for many families.

Interesting statement from Andrea Leadsom We are keen to hear more! “When the Prime Minister asked me to step aside, he also gave me his word that he would enable me to take forward the early years work, and I am delighted that the wheels are in motion” hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2020-0…

#SaferSleepWeek starts today and the theme is surviving sleep deprivation! Tiredness can be overwhelming and sometimes lack of sleep can make following safer sleep difficult. This year, we want to help parents make informed safer sleep choices even when they are exhausted.

@currentmrsadams Heather Kennedy Penelope Dougan Unite_CPHVA Plans for HV redeployment must risk assess carefully. There has never been so many potentially vulnerable children and families needing their support, many are hidden behind closed doors.
