"This Box Jellyfish (Chirodectes) has only been seen twice in the wild, the first was back in 1997, 25 years ago, and the second is this video which was captured by Scuba Ventures - Kavieng in late 2021 near Papua New Guinea!" - jellyfish_science' (IG)

What a graduation ceremony that was! (And so much quicker than undergrad ceremonies 😂). Wouldn't have been doing it today if it wasn't for the amazing help and support from my friends Dr Carol Trim and Ventera Bio Ltd. Congratulations to my fellow venom nerds from Carol's lab too!

Attended the BIAZA National Aquarium Conference on Friday and Saturday, where I presented some of the research that I did for my MSc with The Deep, Dr Carol Trim, and Ventera Bio Ltd. Really excited that I managed to pick up an award for one of the best presentations too!

Do you want to record #wildlife in #Hull? Or are you a regular recorder? We would love your help! The @citnatchallenge is coming to Hull this year & we want as many people as possible to help collect important data. For more info: neyedc.org.uk/hull-cnc-2023 🌿🐞🐸🦊🐍🐦

A few good records from earlier today at Welwick Saltmarsh BWARS . Episyron rufipes (I'm assuming not gallicum?) fighting over what I think is Araneus quadratus. A species I'm not quite sure of (Anoplius sp.?) With what I think is Trochosa sp. And then Philanthus triangulum.

On Saturday I was invited to present some of my research at the Bangor Herp Soc Venom Day conference. There were some awesome talks, and mine seemed to generate some good interest. It's given me a bit of motivation to actually get the work I have been sitting on published asap!
