When the weather doesn’t cooperate The Swede Center is an amazing center not only for practice, but team bonding as well.
Hi Westside Community Schools ! The Swede Center continues to be a popular tour request for district families, visitors and other schools around the state/country. We thought some Did You Knows would be fun. Reminder district students-DM us for a tour or to learn golf! Enjoy & go Warriors!
Did You Know #1 - The Swede Center is the only indoor golf facility for a public high school in the United States! We were highlighted in Golfweek! Westside Community Schools golf alumni stop by to sign a ball and we display it proudly! DM us if interested in learning golf!

Did You Know #2 - The Swede Center repurposed wood from a historical District 66 Westside Community Schools home to give it a cool clubhouse feel. We also created coasters out of the wood & found a cool light that proudly displays a warrior red glow. Check out the story of the historic home!
Did You Know #3- The Swede Center has state of the art equipment from Foresight Sports and a 2,000 sq ft putting/chipping area. We also have U.S. Kids Golf clubs for our Westside Community Schools kiddos who don’t have clubs. Give kids opportunities and watch them grow!
Did You Know #4- The Swede Center is the home of 52 Team & Individual State / Metro Champions! One of our champions is actor Terry Kiser, who played the “dead guy” in Weekend at Bernies! We encourage and support all of our golfers to follow whatever passion they ❤️! Westside Community Schools
Did You Know #5- The Swede Center is named after an amazing person, Merrill “Swede” Carlson. He loved how golf brings people together, the Omaha community and how Westside Community Schools supports all kids by helping them succeed in whatever they love to do❤️.
Did You Know #6- The Swede Center has hosted golf clinics for Westside Community Schools kids. Our (and donors) goal is to grow the game of golf and to give all of our kids across our great district the opportunity to learn the game, grow as a person and to start new friendships.
Did You Know #8- The Swede Center had 74 supporters to help grow the game of golf for our Westside Community Schools kiddos! Our community of alumni, parents and district residents are amazing… they continue to support district projects that impact all 6,000+ of our students! Thank you!❤️❤️
