A spirited meeting with Lt Gen SN 'Tindi' Sharma, the oldest paratrooper (also a Sapper) at the Army Commanders' Dinner.

I'd posted a video of him dancing on his 100th birthday last yr. He is the brother of Major Som Nath Sharma, the first PVC & Gen VN Sharma, former Army Chief.

Nine Chinar 🍁 Corps Commanders in a frame, including Lt Gen Lt Gen A K Bhatt (Retd) behind the camera - all feeling happy at the improvement in the situation in the Kashmir Valley, where everyone has contributed.

Happy to match my horse Govinda's enthusiasm to jump, despite his age (20) this morning.

It was nice to meet a Shetland pony who strayed into the stables and has found shelter there. Children are happy to ride him 🙂

AFSPA should be removed.

But it should be revoked only when the conditions are right. The leadership will take a considered decision. And it will not happen overnight. The Army will remain poised nearby, in a hand holding role, should things worsen again.

Varanasi gets its name from the two rivers Varuna & Assi that join Ganga ji in Varanasi. Kashi is the ghats area between these two junctions. There are 84 ghats in all where the world famous Ganga Arti takes place before sunrise and after sunset. Blessed to have experienced it🙏

A small shop called Chachi ki Dukan is famous for Kachori and Jalebi in Varanasi. See the inimitable style of seating to eat it. Pahalwan ki Lassi in the neighbouring shop is good to wash it down.
