An intriguing look into ‘carcass-location bias’!

Roadkill could be underestimated when animals become injured on roads but die elsewhere nearby, or when animals rebound off, or get stuck to, vehicles. These carcasses can often be missed in traditional roadkill surveys

Road collisions have become a great threat to Nordquist bison in northern British Columbia. Drawn to roadside grasses, they face alarmingly high mortality rates.
