Addiction is the core component of the #gamblingindustry business model. Sporting bodies are addicted to sponsorship revenue and governments to gambling taxes - in turn feeding off the devastating addictions of tens of thousands of individuals. The cycle MUST be broken.

Radio has been full of #gamblingadverts using Christmas songs to push their products. Still putting the responsibility on the individual. The data they hold flags addicts. They use this for prtofit, not to help these people. If you are struggling, speak out, get help

These things need to stop!

Inducements and incentives to gamble don't consist solely of free bets from the big firms. Lots of harm continues to be done on a 'micro' level. Harm that has a big impact upon young people. Conversations with young machine players this week, show that the problem remains!

Speaking with 15 year old machine players this week, in Scarborough arcades. "It's the adrenaline mate". So bacta the voluntary code is clearly failing. Time for a statutory ban on U18s accessing gambling machines.
