Lewis, who has Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder & other health needs, worked with our clinicians to identify the sensory issues before coming up with the idea of sensory boxes, which are filled with various materials like caps, sunglasses, fidget toys & ear defenders 🎧 2/5

13 yr old Lewis recently won a Child Hero award 🏆 at the 2024 NHS England National SEND Awards for introducing sensory boxes at Alder Hey to help children and young people with sensory issues when they visit our hospital 🏥 1/5

Lewis worked with Alder Hey Hospital to look at the sensory issues people like him face when in the hospital and how they can work together to improve them.
