We’re here in Cabo Verde with the Biodiversity Challenge Funds-funded BAIT project to share knowledge, skills & equipment for monitoring mesophotic ecosystems 🇨🇻🪸

So far we’ve had beautiful dense black coral gardens at 100 m + & sharks on the BRUVS 🦈🪸😍

The deep-water drift camera system will join the BRUVS as a permanent monitoring asset remaining in Cabo Verde with the NGO Biosfera Cabo Verde team 🇨🇻

NGO Biosfera Cabo Verde And whilst we’ve of course had some challenges (cue broken wires, diesel fumes & power cuts - that’s fieldwork for you 🤷🏼‍♀️), it’s been an incredible trip led by Teresa Amaro 🙌🏼
