In recognition of #SecondChanceMonth , we’re featuring the contributions of CCJ members who are formerly incarcerated. Tarra Simmons was the first formerly incarcerated person elected to the WA Legislature - and served on the Council’s Task Force on Long Sentences.

Indigenous sacred gardens have now been plotted & cultivated at the Washington State Penitentiary & Airway Heights, Coyote Ridge & Monroe Corrections Centers. We thank our allies Washington Corrections for helping our relatives reclaim & sustain these sacred spaces. This is medicine.
