RECORD BROKEN! DFW has reached 109° so far this afternoon which breaks the old record of 108° set on this day in 2018. We've still got another 1-2hrs of heat left to go, so it could climb even higher. If it reaches 110°, that'll be the hottest temp since 2011. #wfaaweather

Drought update: worse. All of North Texas is now under a severe to exceptional drought. Wed/Thurs rain is not included in this, but it wouldn't make a difference. DFW is currently in the 8th longest dry streak with 47 days. 84% of TX is under a severe drought. #wfaaweather
