Very delighted to be received by HE State Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of DRC. Discussed about cooperation between INBAR and DRC n possible areas of cooperation including institutional and national capacity building, experience sharing n advocacy.

Just happening now:The 20th Congo Basin Forest Partnership ministerial meeting opening session is well underway in Kinshasa, #DRC. INBAR is participating and will have its side event and engagement. Very delighted to represent INBAR with Directors for Global program, and CARO.

Met with the Minister of Agriculture of DRC, focal minster of INBAR. Discussed areas of cooperation between INBAR and the ministry in make good use of Bamboo and rattan resources.

Held discussion with Madame Arcadie Svetlana Minguengui Ndomba épse. Nzoma, Minister of Environment, Climatre and Human-Wildlife Conflict of Gabon regarding Gabon”s membership of INBAR. Agreed to do a follow up by presenting a concept note and formal request.

Very productive meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Central African Forest Commission, Mr Herve’ Martial MAIDOU on issues of mutual interest and future cooperation based on the MOU between the two Organization. Agreed to develop joint projects.

Had very positive meeting with Christophe du Castel, Task Team Leader for Rural Development of #AFD. Discussed on Cooperation b/n INBAR and AFD in Congo Basin using Bamboo and rattan resources. Agreed to develop project concept and follow up engagement!

Excellent discussion with Ambassador Christophe Guilhou on how France via AFD can join forces with INBAR n COMIFAC to develop Bamboo and Rattan value chains for climate change mitigation in the Congo Basin countries.

Excellent engagement with HE Honore’TABUNA Commissioner for Environment Development, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Rural Development Of ECCAS. Reached at an understanding to cooperate and work together in the whole value chain of Bamboo and Rattan resources.

Very important discussion with the representative of CAFI where we discussed how CAFI and INBAR can work together in the whole value chain of bamboo and rattan in MS of both CAFI and INBAR. Agreed on the way forward to have a follow meeting soon.

Visited INBAR East Africa Regional Office( EARO) and meet with staff members. Discussed the Simi-Dutch East Africa Project implementation and the evaluation and assessment of it. The preliminary report indicate very good and@more than satisfactory results.

Met with DG of Ethiopian Forest Development, Ato Kebede Yimam, had exchanges on the support of INBAR to Ethiopia and Ethiopia’s commitment to INBAR, also raised about CABC, and Ethiopia’s support to EARO!

Excellent exchange with HE Isabel Domingos Z Ambassador of São Tomé and Principe to PRC about Bamboo n Rattan & INBAR. We discussed about the possibility of STP joining INBAR. It was positive outcome and agreed to have a follow up via an invitation letter and concept note.

The 2nd Ordinary Session of the #OSC Conference of Associate Members #CAM convened today at the OSC headquarters in Addis Ababa. The outgoing chair of the #CAM, Prof Mahouton Norbert Hounkonnou presented the first annual report of the CAM, which highlighted the key activities

Deeply saddened n heartbroken by the loss of lives in Gofa Zone, Geze Gofa Woreda due to landslides accident. My deepest condolences. May the soul of the victims RIP, quick recovery for those who are recuperating, fortitude n comfort to the families who lost their loved ones.
