Don’t worry, same curve happens again in training…

The valley of despair (aka imposter syndrome) is most experienced in your first year or two as an attending physician.

That anesthesia is safer when two sets of eyeballs (and hands) are involved.

Whole heartedly believe in the anesthesia care team model.

Calling a scheduled eclipse a state of emergency feels eerily similar to a surgeon calling a case urgent because it’s after 5pm

Amiright?

Pre-tax vs. Roth investing. What's the answer?

Ultimately, the best bet is to do what every good radiologist does and hedge your bets 😉

This way regardless of what tax rates are in the future, you'll be good to go.

If you died today, your job would replace you tomorrow.

Your friends and family can’t (and wouldn’t want to) replace you.

Don’t make something else a #1 priority that treats you like an option.

“Hey Jimmy, what block are we doing?”

What do you want to do?

“A supraclavicular block”

What about their O2 sat of 90?

“We should avoid the phrenic, what about an axillary block?”

Great idea!

[Teach trainees to think. Don’t just tell them what to do]

“Hey Jimmy. An insurance agent told me I need a new disability policy”

What do ya have?

“An own occupation policy from [good company]”

Ya know they make commission from selling new policies?

“Oh, how do I if I should trust them then?”

There in lies the problem

Hi, I’m Dr Turner. I am your anesthesia doc today

Elderly patient, “Oh, you only put me to sleep, right? That’s not a big deal”

Right, I put you to sleep… but I’m also the one who makes sure you wake up

“How old are you? Does your mother know you are here?” 🤣

There are 3 things physicians in training must have in place financially:

1) A student loan plan
2) Own Occ Disability Insurance
3) Financial Literacy foundation

That’s why those are the only 3 things we help docs with at Money Meets Medicine
