Great news! A new drug, lecanemab, has slowed patients' cognitive decline in a rigorous clinical trial. It's a modest but clear effect, & next step is to see full data, then make sure it can reach the people who need it most. More on our website 👉alzheimersresearchuk.org/new-alzheimers…

There's caveats, and it may be a long road to reaching patients, but the lecanemab announcement feels different. The mechanism of the disease can be got at. I’ve always believed this was possible, but today I know it. Time for a new, lifechanging push for people with dementia.

Our hearts go out to Coronation Street star Julie Goodyear and her family, following the announcement that she is living with dementia. It’s so brave of Julie’s husband to share this news and help raise much-needed awareness of dementia. dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/arti…
