I've been told NUMEROUS times that I was a child's FIRST Black pediatrician.
I am a product of race-conscious admission policies (i.e. Affirmative Action) which granted me an opportunity to get into medical school. I still had to pass the same classes & tests as everyone else!

Apparently I was ‘racially stereotyped’ into Johns Hopkins Medicine so I could be here making a difference for kids in Baltimore and inspire a black kid to be an MD. Here I was thinking someone saw something in me. SMH #DEI #SupremeCourtDecision #MedEd #notanormalcourt
