Hello Twitter it’s been a while. Sorry this has been dormant. But I’m gingerly coming back onto it for reasons that shall be revealed soon. Is everyone .... ok? ✌🏻

We do not condone the targeted violence Ms Lamb has had to experience - the violence of words is exactly what we are speaking against. Just as racism was never her intention, targeted hate was never ours - yet the impact still exists.

Our focus is accountability and change, not Ms Lamb's past or personality. We want a conversation, not punishment. The Sunday Times or Ms Lamb haven't offered a retraction or direct apology to us, so all we've said already on the petition still applies Change.org/ESEALETTER

60K folks understand that mocking ESEA eyes is a racist trope used to other, insult, and degrade. Racism is not the same as being undiplomatic. We can only assume she's still trying to find the right words to apologise to us, as we haven't recieved one yet? IG: @/ESEA.sisters

As many media types ourselves, we respect and care for the sector, and believe that marginalised groups deserve better from it. We dont care about cancel culture we care about restorative culture, and welcome conversations from Emma Tucker and Christina Lamb to do just that.

I came back onto Twitter because I was so disappointed to see christinalamb not only shirk away from a real apology but because as part of esea.sisters we would like to start meaningful dialogue. Once again we DO NOT condone threats/trolling.

We are not asking for christinalamb to be cancelled. We were asking for a formal printed apology and retraction which we have yet to receive. If she is genuinely aggrieved and “sorry” as her statement says she is she would appeal to her editor at @thesundaytimes

@EmmaTuckerST christinalamb We would also like to reiterate that we do not condone the violence and threats Lamb received. We publicly stated this on our petition and social channels. Please see screenshots attached.

The same journalist has now compared reporting on armed conflict to being criticised for racialised language… The levels of privileged, unreflective, and yes racist fuckery required to do so is quite breath taking…
