Dr. Nazir Shakir Brahui presented a novel derivation for the word aurat from Dravidian Yesterday at DLA. He proposed that the Proto-Dravidian term *oru-tti 'one woman,' evolved in Brahui as arutti/arvat, was likely adopted by other I-A languages as aurat. What's your take?

My updated overview on the Dravidian Languages just got published by Oxford Academic. In this intro I suggested two possible major waves of migrations of the Dravidian peoples into mainland India: 1st wave of ND/CD/SCDr ~3000BCE and SD-I as post-IVC. academic.oup.com/edited-volume/…

The spread of Dravidian languages may have been mainly associated with Iran_Herder like ancestry who were the 1st to domesticate goats & sheeps. Probably why Dravidian & Elamite share almost identical terms for them.Iranian Farmer ancestry on the other hand may have spoken a
