Prof, this is some serious erasure of human lives. Assuming the known #BangladeshiHindu birth rate of 1.9 (as opposed to 2.3 for Muslims), 9,673,048 Hindus in 1974 should be 25,440,7326 Hindus today. According to your own table, that’s 12 million human lives unaccounted for.

Since Prof. Farhana Sultana protected her tweets, just sharing the table I responded to for context—Sultana insisted that the growth of the Hindu population from 9 million to 13 million over 50 yrs meant that Hindu women just have a lower birth rate—denying the 1971 genocide and ethnic

Lecture programs like this are so revealing—and kinda sad. They highlight the absolute bankruptcy of ideas in “South Asian Studies.” “Dismantling Hindutva” or caste or Aurangzeb…it’s just rinse and repeat 🔁

Before Obergefell, even banks that did have provisions for American gay couples could still encounter snags - like family members contesting the gay partners beneficiary status in a state with a gay marriage ban. So this is a big step for India to recognize domestic partners,

Yes we do need a new approach. It’s exactly the misguided overreach described by Paul Brest of Stanford Law School and Emily J. Levine (and complete lack of legal & moral clarity) that’s led to too many campuses, unions, Fortune 500s, and cities to implement caste policies literally

Darshan at a Shiva temple with three temples in one—honoring Shiva, Sadashiva & Paramashiva, in a proudly Hindu land that’s unencumbered by colonial hangovers and able to embrace its traditions. Where am I? If you greet each other with “Om Swasti Astu” you know!

I see that the The Indian Express ran a piece by a privileged Hindu in Washington, who works full time pushing USCIRF to investigate & condemn India, now arguing that #Bangladesh should get a free pass & that #BangladeshiHindus don’t need anyone advocating for them—just move on.

Our guide here in #Bali, pointed to the #Swastikas on the Hindu temple and said, let me explain.” I said, “stop right there, we’ve got this!” Right-facing and left-facing, abound on 600 year old Hindu & Buddhist temples here…no hate, all Shanti when you know! 🕉️

“There is this perception that the Democratic Party is deaf to the Hindu community’s concerns,” Suhag Shukla said, referring to legislation including caste as a category in anti-discrimination laws, which was proposed and passed in Seattle.” No paywall👇🏼 apnews.com/article/usha-v…

Still flummoxed by the X algorithm. I shared a WaPo piece in which I was quoted yesterday that got minimal engagement. Just 12 hours later, I posted basically the same tweet with an @ap link, and engagement was much higher. Is The Washington Post shadow banned or is it that WaPo

This guy threatening Hindu American Foundation with a kooky video would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that he represents the violent, separatist Khalistan movement that's responsible for the bloodiest terror attack in Canadian history. And Khalistani thugs not only called in a threat

My colleague, Samir Kalra, wrote this piece prior to the specific threats against HAF by Sikhs for Justice—now eerily prescient. The details here of the gang syndicates controlling the separatist Khalistan movement is why we’re taking recent threats against us very seriously.
