Irresistible heartsease for #wildflowerhour, officially my favourite flower seen blooming for my 1 Sept flower count in #Stroud, in two pretty variants. I may have jumped up and down...

For #MosaicMonday, the reredos carved with the last supper is by the Forsyth brothers, but look at the inlay to either side replete with biblical flowers - lily, rose, pomegranate, passionflower and more - at St James, Sussex Gardens, #London. Devon marble, designed by G E Street

Ya boo spiky sucks to you from Cirencester parish church, #Gloucestershire! I'm out to lunch, this chap is obviously jealous! Far too early - or late - for #SundayStonework but why not?

I think I am more or less finished, apart from a few little touches here and there. A Cedric Morris, Benton Olive Iris painted in watercolour on 640gsm Fabriano Artistico HP paper. #botanicalpainting

For #WindowsOnWednesday I followed Aleta Doran ✨ to Stratton, #Gloucestershire, in search of Trena Cox's #ArtsandCrafts #stainedglass from 1926 - teeny, high up, but good! Mind you, St Peter looks as bleary as I fell this morning, as I type this on the train at 7.15...

An #AdoorableThursday conceit from Spexhall, #Suffolk, from the restoration of J K Colling of the 1870s, with a buttress humorously blocking a door - Simon Knott says he's echoing nearby Blythburgh, which just shows that I need to visit there again πŸ˜…

Quote of the day so far with C R Ashbee, as relevant today as then: 'Intelligent planning is cheaper than stupid planning' - particularly in light of Grenfall, RAAC and so, so much more... #architecture #ArtsandCrafts

I'm sure I've posted it before, but the weathered C14th #FontsOnFriday returned by Street in 1865 to Cirencester parish church, #Gloucestershire, with the Monox #monument behind it and actually a rather lovely bit of #stainedglass by Hugh Easton above it, it a fab sight.

A tale writ in stone at North Leigh, #Oxfordshire, for #SteepleSaturday, with a C11th tower & the ghost of a former Saxon nave, chancel arch still seen around the C14th window. The church once three cell: nave, tower, chancel, now tower, nave, chancel plus C12th aisles. Complex!

Sheer beauty from Somerton, #Oxfordshire, with this early #stainedglass by Christopher Whall, made at Powell's in 1892 - part of a quite extensive set of #ArtsandCrafts interventions in this special church - such loveliness for #StainedGlassSunday!
