The Duty to Consult has been a constitutional obligation for the Crown for over a decade and is still routinely neglected, fumbled and outsourced to Crown-like agencies for rubber-stamp approval. As was the case in Tsleil-Waututh Nation et al. v. Attorney General of Canada.

Considering the relatively weak requirements of the Duty to Consult and the limited scope of Indigenous jurisdiction it assumes, this speaks volumes of the Crown's approach to respectful relations.

Nonetheless, congratulations to the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, Musqueam, Coldwater First Nation, Aitchelitz, Skowkale Shxwa:y Village, Soow Ahlie, Squiala First Nation, Tzeachten, Yakweakwioose, Skwah, Kwaw-Kwaw-Aplit & Sto:lo, Upper Nicola and Stk’emlupsemc Te Secwepemc.
