I am looking for a Midlands-based actor to play Leontes and Autolycus in The Winter’s Tale later this year. Rehearsals are in Nov at Attenborough Arts in Leicester, then 3 shows there in Dec, before 3 shows including a livestream in Jan at Derby Theatre Studio. 1/2

Hello #AcademicTwitter, please give me your favourite examples of Shakespeare appearing on stage and screen as a character *specifically as a narrator or chorus*. Any time period, but 1900 onwards even better. Any and all suggestions and RTs very much appreciated! #EarlyModern

bloomsbury.com/uk/shakespeare… Curious about why fraught moments in American politics are invariably described as "Shakespearean"? Read about how Washington, D.C. became the U.S. city most closely associated with the Bard AND take advantage of 30% off #Bloomsbury academic titles.

The The Pantaloons Merry Wives of Windsor was absolutely superb tonight. Alex Rivers’ Falstaff probably my favourite portrayal ever, and not just because he made so much of my audience suggestion he try flossing as a wooing technique. All the usual brilliant nonsense.

The Merry Wives of New Milton (in er…New Milton) was another brilliantly funny show from the excellent The Pantaloons. No idea how they script it but just go and see it. A hoot.
