As a preview to their “survivor” unit 5th graders at WES documented species and # of trees that were planted in May 2014 w help from CHS Maryland DNR intern to share w local Forestry Board. Two groups exactly estimated a Sycamore height of 42’ measured by a laser hypsometer!


Field experiences continue to visit the classroom. 4th graders around the county investigate the interdependent relationships in ecosystems by examining life from Lake Hashawha. Students report excellent biodiversity from their investigations! Spring Garden Elementary
