An update on levelling up agenda: super deduction for allowances at 130% a huge boost along with a freeze on fuel duties will make a real different #Budget2021. That's before we get to Freeports...

They key to delivering on the levelling up agenda is investing in jobs, skills. and housing. The freeports announcement will make sure that #Budget2021 isn't a Singapore on Thames focus - with three quarters of the new locations outside London and the South East

So far a lot more on spending commitments and some BIG numbers but not a great deal of clarity on where the funding is coming from .... on tenterhooks for the tax measures #Budget21

So more spending on levelling up - no great surprises in the speech so far. Deployment of £1.7bn of the Levelling Up fund. Whilst great to see the spend it is spread far and wide across lots and lots of Towns and Cities

Were changes in R&D incentives a missed opportunity for levelling up? Boosting R&D incentives in areas that feel 'left behind' could have been a win win #Budget21

Great to see that the Chancellor see's the benefit of modernising the tax system - maybe alcohol duties is just the first step #budget21

A great warm up to tomorrows Fiscal Event from our Head of Tax Laura Hinton, a reminder of the wider impact the choices we make today on tax will have on all of us pwc.to/3V1v6ap

So there we have confirmation of the 12 new investment zones with anticipated support in skills, infrastructure, tax incentives and business rates relief...great to hear but will the £80m per zone go far enough? #Budget2023

The Chancellor is majoring on a mandate for levelling up as part of the Growth ambition and we are only one E down...#Budget2023

Interesting that "Full Expensing" for capital investment on plant & machinery is being badged as a reduction on 25% CT rate for Companies... #Budget2023

Stella Amiss (@stellaamisspwc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

#Budget2023 - some big numbers in this budget on spending, it's not immediately clear where the funding is coming from, it's rare I say this but am itching to see the Red Book..
