Thank you to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service who came to talk to Year 1&2 about the Great Fire of London. They learnt how people tried to fight the fire in 1666 and compared this to how fires are fought today. The children even got to use the hose! The fire was then recreated to see it spread 🚒🔥🧑‍🚒

We had a great time at the Mapperley Lights Switch On. We're so proud of how well our Young Voices choir performed and it has made us even more excited for the arena concert in January! We raised a wonderful £372 from our chocolate tombola stall to add to our YV fundraising!

Welcome December! We've many events planned to get us in festive spirit. We're rehearsing for nativities & carol concert performances, our Christmas Fayre & Festive Jumper Day is on Friday 8th & on the last week of term we'll enjoy Christmas lunch with all the trimmings! 🎅

The children in Year 4 had a great time at St James’ Church where, as part of their RE learning, they found out about the importance of music in Christian worship. Many thanks to Rev Mike and Gary, the church organist who, treated them to a variety of styles of Christian music.

Christmas has arrived at Stanhope! The naughty elves have returned and have been causing mischief in Reception and classrooms! All the classrooms are decorated and advent calendars are being opened. We’re all excited for Christmas events happening this month 🎄🌟

Year 4 really enjoyed their Roman day yesterday. It was brilliant to see them bringing their learning to life as they formed armies and built bridges!

It was a very Christmassy, cosy evening at Stanhope yesterday for our movie night fundraiser. The children had a lovely time and we are thrilled to announce that our two movie events have raised a whopping £650 towards our Young Voices target. Go Team Stanhope!

Christmas has truly hit Stanhope this week. We also had a shock delivery in Stanhope Stars this week, with our naughty elf, Jingles, passing on the Teacher Naughty List. Thank you so much to everybody who has attended nativities and our carol concert this week.

This afternoon, we took some of our brilliant children from Year 5 and 6 to a debate competition with some other schools from across Flying High. The children represented Stanhope fantastically and were eloquent and thoughtful in their points and responses. Go Team Stanhope!

Our Year 5 & 6 boys won their first match of the season last night with a well-earned 2:1. Shoutout to Craig for refereeing the game & Oscar for pulling off a match winning save. Also to our two players of the match Dexter and Sam, who were solid in defence⭐️
