Annual PSA: Don’t break the law or bend your morals/ethics to kill a turkey. It’s not worth it. By doing so one shows disrespect to the sport and the bird. Win right or don’t win at all.

Strutting is a behavior us hunters link to toms, but it is performed by hens and poults. Research has even noted that poults of both sexes strut. It appears that strutting is something all turkeys do at some point in their life cycle ⁦Bret Collier⁩ ⁦The National Wild Turkey Federation

Turkeys CAN be over harvested. There is a crossover point b/t harvest rate and annual poult recruitment. Hence, harvest rate AND method of take have to be two of many things we as a turkey hunting community look at.

Turkeys have periscopic vision that helps them avoid danger, offering nearly 360 deg field of view. But danger also lurks above as birds of prey can prey on adults and poults. That prompts them to keep an eye on the sky! ⁦Bret Collier⁩ ⁦The National Wild Turkey Federation

Turkeys use their legs and feet to do more than walk, those are tools to obtain food when it becomes scarce. Scratching and even digging are common as fall becomes winter, helping them recover food items that other critters can’t. ⁦Bret Collier⁩ ⁦The National Wild Turkey Federation
