As a person of color and an autistic individual, I appreciate that her appearance avoids stereotypes. Autism cannot be identified based on physical appearance. A lot of autistic people of color actually go undiagnosed due to systemic bias in healthcare and cultural reasons.

Maybe it’s just me, but when someone is autistic and conventionally attractive, they’re often told they “don’t look autistic.” Autism has nothing to do with appearance, anyone can be autistic. If anything, this barbie breaks the stereotype.
