Question for composers: Do you compose in notation software or directly in a DAW? I have always composed in notation software. Lately I have been having a lot of trouble having inspiration from not having access to my samples in notation. The MuseScore playback engine is meh.

MuseScore is definitely the spiritual successor to Finale. It’s the only notation software that feels even remotely like Finale. It lets you put notes on the page with chords. 😮 I haven’t bought Notion 6 yet though. That one looks more similar to Finale than Dorico or Sibelius.
