I think I’ve read about 16 books of his and my favorite so far is Pet Sematary. Jud was awesome, the horror was intense and the ending was emotionally devastating :(

I like challenging myself to read them to see if I’m tough enough to endure the worst of the worst it has to offer. It inspires sympathy because it makes you imagine terrible realities that many people have lived through. It also prepares you for the horrors of the real world.

Kathleen⁷ 캐슬린 💜 I agree and I never understood this. I can read Stephen King and Shakespeare on Thursday then read Attack on Titan and Naruto on Friday. Comics, manga and graphic novels can absolutely have as much depth as any other form of literature. Why can’t we just let people enjoy things?

I like when the heroes win, but I think it makes things more interesting if they win after the villain has already succeeded in some way. It makes things bittersweet. It reminds us that we can find victory and move forward after enduring loss and hardship. #writingcommmunity

Stories aren't real. All characters don't need agreeable moral codes. This is part of why we write fiction. We can explore the dark side without any real people getting hurt. Save your scruples for the real world. When you're writing, just let it rip!

A criticism I’ve received for the protagonist of my book is that she’s not a good role model. My refute: She’s a vengeful, morally gray antihero with a bad habit of projecting her trauma onto others. She’s not supposed to be a good role model. Thoughts? #writingcommmunity

The Dark Ages and the Victorian era are the most interesting time periods to me, they often reflect my interest in gothic horror and dark fantasy literature as well!

Sometimes asshole characters say asshole things in a work of fiction, and that emotion you feel when you read it - outrage, fury, anger - was intentional. The author WANTS you to feel angry about what that asshole said. It DOES NOT mean the author endorses what the asshole said.
