A lot of well meaning people keep retweeting those videos of Black Haitians being whipped at the border and I'd like y'all to stop. It's traumatizing to watch. Literal nightmare fuel. Just something to think about if you see it and want to retweet as well.

When you study racism as long as I have, little can be truly shocking, but my God, this was just breathtaking and heartbreaking and shows once again how little so many in this society acknowledge the basic humanity of Black children. It's also why investigative reporting MATTERS.

This is what a broken system looks like. With an elected official at the helm.

I’m happy Ahmaud Arbery’s killers are cooked. But never forget that this is not an example of the justice system working. Police didn’t arrest these men. Prosecutors didn’t want them charged. The video wasn’t released initially. It took outrage and pressure to make this happen.
