Conservative policy is to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda.

Labour stands against the Rwanda plan & will clear the backlog trapped in limbo by processing asylum claims.

Polls & election results are clear which the public want. Lab has everything to lose if they lose their nerve.

Refugee Council 🧡 It also sounded like the Home Office haven't begun processing claims made after 7 March 2023 yet. Given around 9 in 10 claims as of 14 April 2024 were made after that date, it's really not clear what the 2,500 asylum decision makers are doing right now.

you can absolutely argue about whether Labour having a ridiculous supermajority would be a good thing or not, but after the last fourteen years the Tories deserve to be annihilated and it'll be good for the country if they are

In which I go through my Rwanda briefing in some depth, and then tell everyone to ignore Colin

We argue that rotten food served in the asylum hotels is now endemic. It is no aberration or accident and needs to be viewed in the context of 'food systems'

UPDATE: The Home Office has stopped publishing the stats.

It comes a day after we reported that the HO had admitted its own data was unverified + likely to have 'a relatively high degree of measurement error'.

Aid workers said the data was 'misleading'👇
