With the week-end in prospect, I thought I'd start today with one that might engender thoughts of a day by the seaside. This is 'Lyme Regis' by John Cooper from 1934/35. It is a view from Cobb Road towards the harbour & the Cobb which has barely changed in c.90 years! #LymeRegis

This painting '1943-45 (St Ives, Cornwall)' is part of a series that Nicholson began in 1939. This was the year he moved to Cornwall with his wife, Barbara Hepworth. Both became key figures in the artist’s community of St Ives.
