#Alabama linebacker Deontae Lawson had some strong words of support for Kalen DeBoer after the game:

'He tells us that we're all in this together all the time, it just makes you want to compete for him. You’re just able to open up and be yourself, not just on the football field…

Washington transfer Germie Bernard was credited with three catches for 122 yards per the A-Day stat sheet. He's going to be a key piece for the #Alabama offense this fall.

Jalen Milroe: 'He’s been special for us.'

#Alabama QB Jalen Milroe when asked about his mentality entering spring practice as returning starter:

DeBoer notes that he doesn't believe he saw any interceptions by the QBs in any of the scrimmages, there've been fumbles offensively but no picks.

DeBoer on Jihaad Campbell and Jehiem Oatis: 'If we had another week, definitely two weeks but if we had another week they would've been good to go.'

Says both are doing well and on track in their recovery.

Kalen DeBoer at the podium now. Says he counted roughly six penalties over 85-ish plays, adds that penalties have improved from each scrimmage.

Offense (white) beats defense (crimson) 34-28 in the first #Alabama spring game of the Kalen DeBoer era.

Once the dust settled it was about what you wanted— offense had its moments early and the defense battled back late.

Most importantly: no injuries.

Conor Talty misses a 46-yard field goal which gives two points to the defense -- offense leads 34-23.

Defense has won the second half so far, outscoring the offense 20-3 after a 31-3 deficit.

It was negated by a penalty but Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. had a nice pick off Austin Mack in the end zone. Cool moment given the family history.

Update: The Kendrick Law jet sweep is still effective.

First team offense back on the field, this time RS freshman Olaus Alinen is at right guard. Jaeden Roberts has played some there as has Roq Montgomery.
