No question- my Yale University university press Global History of Scotland will conclude that Dundasâs Caribbean patronage network & its links to Scotland could not have been preserved had he supported abolition
Our Slavery/History: Sir Tom Devine refers to Slavers who Dundas supported and they thanked him for abolishing the slave trade, âgraduallyâ...especially James Baillie MP who said âabolitionistsâ were âill-informed, ignorant and low menâ...he certainly was not referring to Dundas.
We are very proud to host the John Smith Centre at University of Glasgow UofG Social Sciences - there is no better and more important time to inspire new generations of students to embrace public service.
