Our History, Burns’ attention: Here Kemp reports that Prof Devine will “ challenge” the “Burns Supper” acceptable version of Scottish history but Burns produced the best description of our history’s inhumanity…slavers Oswald without pity had, “Hands that took, but never gave”.

Our History/Eg of Prof Biggar’s “occasional benefits” of chattel slavery which Dundas delayed: Slave owners, Mr and Mrs Oswald met in Jamaica. They owned Auchencruive House, Ayr. Here, Burns states their avarice and wealth. Burns knew their house, I took the photos on a visit…

Our History and why Tom Devine told us using “evidence” why Hume’s racist “footnote” and Dundas’ “gradual abolition” benefited Scotland. Here Prof Devine tells how the true story of Scottish emigration since the 19th century is only just starting to emerge scotsman.com/whats-on/arts-…

No Room for Race: Early1960s it was easy to rent a room as a student. Then politicians gave us ‘race and rivers of blood’, ‘race and wrong colour neighbours’ (Smethwick) and ‘strange colour-race grandchildren’ …by the 1970s my neighbour said my presence reduced his house price…

Our History…Hume and Kant non-evidenced based “enlightened justification” that black people were an inferior race and Henry Dundas’ economically based “gradual (slow) abolition” which contained his ‘abolitionist’ proposals of buying and breeding slaves…

Our History: Doing Right not Wrong…the Council installed the evidence-based plaque and when it was removed replaced it without being influenced by selfish excuses such as: The Joseph Knight case, the French Revolution, The Lords, Gradual slavery better than Immediate abolition…

Our History/UML Film: Scotland, Slavery and Statues…to Plaques. Pleased that other people have noticed our evidence-based view that cruel consequences of the past such as racism can be changed for the better using educational truth.

Let us not forget that the truth, even difficult, is liberating. By embracing it, one can learn from past mistakes and strive to create a better world for all. Your film has the potential to be an important catalyst in this process. Congratulations on your important work Prof 🙏🏽

Great to see my documentary screening again on Australian TV - SBS and NITV channels today at 4pm! It’ll then be On Demand on SBS for a month. This story is still so relevant….

Our History…if good people did not support our protests, historian supported falsehoods would persist. Eg., here we have history-based statements about the post slave trade policing of the British Navy…but our trade ended in 1807, British slaves were still being traded in 1866.
