What seems to be going on is you ask folks about abortion & they answer w/their identity: 'I'm someone who oppose abortion in the strongest terms.' So they pick the most extreme answer: 'Illegal in all cases.' But when you press them, many say 'Well, yeah, there are exceptions.'
