My wish for 2025 is that we humans start to build long-lasting peace. With thoughts for people in Sudan, Ukraine, Gaza, Myanmar and elsewhere that are feeling unsafe on this last day of 2024. May 2025 bring them the Peace they deserve and bring a future to their youth.

A glimpse of hope : a long-awaited ceasefire deal in Gaza has been agreed. 🇧🇪 urges all parties to respect it. The bloodshed must end. Unrestricted access for aid must be guaranteed. Hostages must be released. 🇧🇪 will continue supporting efforts toward a two-state solution.

The EU, alongside 23 international partners, demands that Israel immediately resume full humanitarian aid access to #Gaza. The proposed new aid model is unacceptable. It politicises relief, endangers lives & undermines humanitarian principles. Needs on the ground are massive.

The suffering in Gaza is unacceptable. Violence against civilians seeking humanitarian aid is unacceptable. Attacks near food distribution points are unacceptable. World Food Programme is calling for an urgent ceasefire to avert a deeper humanitarian catastrophe.
